Standup + Clinic

Pixel art of a base camp at morning. Four small teams walk back in from valley paths carrying maps and notebooks. In the middle of camp, people from different teams step into five colored circles marked with a gear, an eye, a book, a gauge, and a robot head.

Standup #2

One team at a time. About 90 seconds each.

  1. What your sprint found, in one sentence a teammate can use. Point at the artifact in notes/.
  2. What it changed. Did your team's plan or first milestone move because of it?
  3. What's blocking you, and who you need it from.

Then the team answers the question from both meetings: does anything we've learned change our plan?

No meeting, no deliverable, no hours. Notice when something in your area breaks anywhere in the product, then own the follow-up. Counts toward Distinction when the work lands outside your own project area.

Handout: Cross-Project Functions

Sit With Your Function

Move seats. About 10 minutes.

  1. Read your function's starting list in the handout together.
  2. Each person picks one item to look at first. Ideally one outside your own project area.
  3. Post it in your #fn- channel: the item, your name, and what you'll do with it by Demo Day 2 (Oct 29).

An XL item on your list can also be your First Implementation Ticket. Then one PR counts for both.

Tomorrow: Demo Day 1

Five minutes per team, then questions. Live, in Pawtograder. Order drawn at the start.

Nothing has merged yet, and that's expected. Demo what exists and what you found.

Clinic

Work with your team. I come to you, in the order blockers went on the board.

If your team has no labeled issues on the platform yet, file them now. The next two weeks' tickets, each small enough to claim, with your team: label. That was due with the sprint, and the first implementation tickets come out of it tomorrow.

Otherwise: rehearse tomorrow's five minutes once, with a timer.

Up Next

Thu Oct 15, Demo Day 1

Five minutes per team: the problem, what the sprint found, and the scope you've set.

Before then:

  • Post your first function item in your #fn- channel
  • Add your function to section 1 of charter.md
  • Rehearse your team's demo once, with a timer
